Practical 6: Reinforcement

Week 12

Teammates Present: Shawn and Nelly

Making the previous prototypes (clear and coloured) leakproof was the goal for this session. Leakage points were identified by filling them with water and then marking them with a marker. The prototypes were then dried with tissues to maximize the glue's effectiveness. Acrylic glue was used for the coloured prototype while flex glue was used as a replacement of GOOP sealant glue for the clear prototype.

After further discussion with our supervisor, it might be advisable to dispose of the clear prototype to save resources and time and instead use that time to design and build a new prototype.

A new prototype was designed with lesser parts to reduce complexity, reduce the amount possible leak points and make building the prototype easier. The focus of the prototype will be more on functionality rather than visual appeal.
